An Original Design by Kariman Aranca
BASTICO was born from Kariman Aranca’s exploration of ancient Egyptian civilization and her vision of reinterpreting its distinctive symbols through contemporary handbag design.Inspired by Bastet, the ancient Egyptian cat, BASTICO features an original sculptural handle that captures her distinctive form through three defining elements: her carefully sculpted face, ornamental collar, and flowing tail.
Every detail has been thoughtfully developed, from the proportions and contours of the sculpture to the placement of the handle’s attachment points along the tail and shoulder. Through meticulous design development and craftsmanship, Bastet’s distinctive identity is translated into a sculptural form that gives BASTICO its unmistakable character.
The design extends beyond the handle itself. The relationship between the sculptural form and the bag’s silhouette creates a subtle visual impression of Bastet’s eye within the space between them. Emerging naturally from the design’s own lines and proportions, this detail requires no additional symbols or embellishments.
Together, these elements form a cohesive design in which sculpture, silhouette, and visual perception come together to express a singular creative vision.

Crafted from premium genuine leather, BASTICO features a sculptural black aluminum handle inspired by Bastet, the ancient Egyptian cat. The interior is lined with soft blue suede and includes a single leather pocket for your essentials. A refined leather flap with a concealed magnetic closure completes the design.
